Do I need a wifi or cellular connection to operate the InstaScope?

No. The InstaScope does not need an internet connection to operate. You do need an internet connection to upload your collection data and see the full, advanced inspection reports, but any type of connection — hot spot, wifi, or cellular — will suffice. You can then access your data and see advanced analytics via your cloud admin site.

How is the InstaScope different from a particle counter?

A particle counter can only see one channel (particle size) while InstaScope can see multiple channels including particle size, biofluorescence, and color intensity.

How long does the battery last before it needs to be charged?

A battery can sustain the InstaScope for approximately 4-6 hours of active runtime, and you can have one or two batteries connected at a time.

What iPad version do I need to operate the InstaScope?

We recommend 10th Generation or newer: anything older than that might work but we don't officially support older versions.

What is the TVOC/CO2 sensor package?

This sensor package measures Total Volatile Organic Compounds in parts per billion (ppb) and CO2 levels in parts per million (ppm), both of which are important indicators of overall air quality. VOCs and CO2 occur naturally though they can also be a byproduct of human activity. TVOC sensors are commonly used in air quality monitors to assess the presence of potential pollutants and their impact on health. CO2 sensors are helpful in understanding and improving indoor air quality, especially in commercial buildings, schools, and homes when studying ventilation and efficiency.
